Ingredients of Buckwheat Potato Patties

  1. It's 1/4 cup of Kuttu Ka Atta/Buckwheat flour.
  2. It's 3-4 of potatoes, boiled and mashed.
  3. You need As per taste of Sendha namak.
  4. You need 1/2-1 tsp of Red chilli powder.
  5. You need 1-2 tsp of Coriander powder.
  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Black pepper.
  7. You need 1 tsp of Dry ginger powder.
  8. It's 1 of Green chilli, finely chopped.
  9. Prepare As required of Water.
  10. You need As required of Oil or Ghee as required.
  11. It's Handful of Coriander leaves.

Heat remaining oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the water and salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Now the prep is easy but it's not the one-pan kind of prep. To make these savory buckwheat burgers you will need to start with cooking sweet potatoes and buckwheat first.

Buckwheat Potato Patties step by step

  1. In large bowl, add mashed potatoes, red chilli powder, coriander powder, black pepper, ginger powder..
  2. Add 1/4 cup of kuttu atta (Buckwheat flour) and sendha namak. Now mix it with the help of youur hands. (Sprinkle some water if required)..
  3. Add desi ghee and make a dough..
  4. After 5 minutes, apply some oil or ghee on your hands. Take some batter in your hand from the bowl. Give it a round shape. OR You can make on a plastic sheet or banana leaves also, but first you have to apply some oil or water to the sheet..
  5. Now heat oil or ghee in Kadhai on medium flame. Once the oil becomes hot, start adding patties in kadhaai (Gently turn them). Fry them till they become crisp and golden brown..
  6. Once done transfer them to the serving plate and it's ready. Serve hot with curd and imli or dhaniya chutney..

The buckwheat might need less or more. I recommend following the package instructions. Peel and mash the boiled sweet potato evenly. Add in the Buckwheat flour, cinnamon and give it a quick mix. Add water slowly to make a lump free batter.
