Recipe: Tasty Kadi Chawal

Kadi Chawal. Kadhi chawal is a universal favorite for all North Indians. This Indian yogurt curry with rice is prepared by putting fried fritters in yogurt based curry. The deep fried pakodas submerged in thick creamy yogurt curry makes the experience unparallel.

Kadi Chawal Kadhi is prepared by mixing Curd, Besan (Chickpea Flour) and different spices. It is served with boiled rice and is very popular in Northern and Western States of India. It usually has a thick consistency and contains fritters (Pakora). You can have Kadi Chawal using 21 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Kadi Chawal

  1. You need of Besan.
  2. Prepare of Yogurt.
  3. Prepare of Onion small chopped.
  4. It's of Ginger paste.
  5. You need of Green chilli chopped.
  6. Prepare of Dry red chilli.
  7. Prepare of Salt.
  8. Prepare of Lal mirchi powder.
  9. You need of Dhaniya powder.
  10. Prepare of Haldi.
  11. It's of Saboot dhaniya.

The combination of some Indian dishes is enjoyed the most like kadhi-chawal. The kadhi the combination of yogurt and gram flour (besan) curry which is served with rice and roti. Kadi Chawal step by step

  1. In a bowl mix besan and yogurt. Mix well and there should not b any lumps..
  2. Heat oil in a wok. Add jeera hing, dry red chilli saboot dhania, hing and tej patta..
  3. Now add ginger and chilli and onions. Saute for a min.till onions get tender..
  4. In a small bowl take salt, haldi, lal mirch powder and dhania powder. Add little water and make paste. Add this paste and cook for a min..
  5. Now add besan and yogurt batter. Mix continuously to avoid lumps. Add sufficient water. Let it boil..
  6. Now for pakodas....mix all ingredients and fry on medium heat till golden brown..
  7. Put these pakodas in kadi and cook for 10 mins on low flame..
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves..
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice..
  10. Option : u can put garlic tadka over it to enhance it's taste..
